What we collect
Account details (email, password), profile information you provide (name, birthdate, photos, bio, preferences), your device's precise location (with your permission) used to show people nearby and distance, and usage data needed to run matching, chat, and safety features.
How we use it
To create your profile, show you and others in NEARBY and TODAY, power conversations and chat, keep the community safe, process verification and reports, and improve the app. We do not sell your personal data.
Location
With your permission, we collect your device's precise location (GPS) to show you people nearby and the distance between members. Only distance is ever shown — we never display your exact location or address to anyone. You can turn location access off any time in your device Settings.
Who can see what
Your profile is visible to other eligible members in NEARBY and TODAY. Your email, exact birthdate, and verification selfie are never shown on your profile. Blocked members cannot see or contact you.
Sensitive information
Being on Tint may imply information about your sexual orientation. We treat this with care, restrict access, and never sell it. Share only what you’re comfortable with on your profile.
Storage & security
Your data is stored with our infrastructure provider (Supabase) using access controls and row-level security. Photos are kept in private storage with signed, expiring links.
Your choices & rights
You can edit your profile, snooze your visibility, or delete your account at any time. To request a copy of your data or deletion, email support@tintdating.com.
Age
Tint is strictly for adults 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18 and remove such accounts when found.
Legal bases (EU/UK – GDPR)
Where the EU/UK GDPR applies, we process your data on these bases: performance of our contract with you (to run the service); your consent (e.g., precise features you turn on); our legitimate interests (safety, preventing fraud and abuse, improving Tint); and legal obligation. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Data retention
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your profile, photos, conversations, and messages. We may retain limited records where required for legal, safety, or fraud-prevention reasons (e.g., a record that a ban occurred), kept only as long as necessary.
International transfers
Our infrastructure (Supabase) may process data in regions including the United States. Where we transfer personal data out of the EU/UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your rights (EU/UK)
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. You can delete your account in-app (YOU → Settings → Delete my account). You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Your rights (California/US)
If you are a California resident (CCPA/CPRA), you have the right to know what we collect, to access and delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
We do not sell your data
Tint does not sell your personal information and does not share it with third parties for their own advertising.
How to exercise your rights
Delete your account any time in-app. For access, correction, a copy of your data, or any other request, email support@tintdating.com. We verify and respond within 30 days (sooner where required). You may use an authorised agent where the law allows.
